We are pleased to announce that Minky have launched a brand new product ? the Minky Fairtrade Cotton Cleaning Cloths.Made from 100% natural cotton yarn, these cloths are superb quality. Large, thick and absorbent, they can be used for cleaning, doing dishes or dry dusting.
What is Fairtrade?
The Fairtrade mark is an independent consumer label which appears on products as an independent guarantee that disadvantaged producers in the developing world are getting a better deal.
The producers receive a minimum price that covers the cost of sustainable production and an extra premium that is invested in social or economic development projects.
Why have Minky launched the Minky Fairtrade Cleaning Cloth?
As a leading manufacturer & supplier in the Cleaning Category, we are at the forefront of socially-responsible trading and this is why the Fairtrade Cotton Cleaning Cloth was the obvious product for us. The product also fits in with our aim to bring genuine newness and value to the cleaning category, our first Fairtrade product, the Minky Fairtrade Cleaning Cloth does just that.
Where do our cloths come from?
The cotton used in the Minky Fairtrade Cotton Cleaning Cloth is grown by a co-operative of small-scale farmers in the town of Dougourakoroni on the slopes of Mount Kita in Mali.
The cotton is then processed and spun by accredited suppliers in Europe before it is knitted by Minky into cloths.
This benefits the people of the cooperative in Mali, while ensuring our consumers benefit from our high production standards, product consistency & quality control.
